Welcome to Friends of Parish School
Who are we?
Everyone is a member of Friends of Parish School - FOPS when you join us at Parish, and it is led by parents who volunteer as part of a committee, which is appointed at the AGM each September/October act on behalf of ALL the parents/carers and children at Parish Primary.
We are a non profit charity that organise showstopper events not only to raise funds for resources but more importantly to strengthen our school community.
By working together we make the school a better place for our children to learn and have fun, and you can join us by volunteering, signing up on PTA events whenever we have an event on.
We encourage and support you if you have a small business. We can offer you a stall - a great opportunity for you to showcase and sell on event days.
We are open to any ideas or suggestions for any future investments you would like us to make at School and would love to hear from you. Please drop us an email or even better, come and have a chat!
Where does the money go?
2019/20 was a highly unusual year due to Covid-19. Despite the inevitable disruption to our fundraising events, we still managed to raise over £15,000, of which £10,000 of that has already been spent on a new computer for each of our 21 classrooms.
In 2018/19, funds raised by FOPS paid for:
- Astro-turfing the new quiet area (£16,300)
- Mathletics (£3200)
- PE equipment (£2400)
- Free events for the children, eg Easter Egg hunt, school disco (£1100)
- Classroom essentials for each class (£1050)
- Early years equipment (£1000)
- Books (£940)
- Forest school equipment (£630)
- Author visit during World Book Week (£500)
- Hi vis vests for pupils (£350)
- School Christmas tree (£95)
