WELCOME TO GARNET!

MRS GARCIA AND MRS MCLAREN ARE OUR CLASS TEACHERS
MS CALEY IS OUR TEACHING ASSISTANT

In Reception Class it is important that we have lots of opportunities to learn through play and exploration. We enjoy making friends and having fun inside and outside of the classroom. We have a lovely outdoor area which we share with other Reception children. Being outside we can extend our learning and play on a bigger, louder and more active scale.

In Reception Class we gain a broad range of knowledge and skills – we are always curious to find out more and enthusiastic to have a go at new things. We are encouraged to try our best and understand that it is ok to make mistakes.

During the school day we are involved in activities and experiences which are based on the EYFS areas of learning and development: Personal, social and emotional development; Communication and language development; Physical development; Literacy (reading and writing); Mathematics (number, shapes, spaces and measure); Understanding the world; Expressive arts and design.

We love being at school and at home which is why we value the importance of building open communication and positive partnerships between our teachers and parents. We learn better together.
