In Reception it is important that we have lots of opportunities to learn through play and exploration. We enjoy making friends and having fun inside and outside of the classroom. We have a beautiful outdoor area which we all share. We love learning outside as we can extend our learning and play on a bigger, louder and more active scale.
In Reception we gain a broad range of knowledge and skills – we are always curious to find out more and enthusiastic to have a go at new things. We are super lucky as our classrooms are vibrant and exciting. In reception we learn through play. We have lots of fun, are encouraged to try our best and we understand that it is okay to make mistakes.
During the school day we are involved in activities and experiences which are based on the EYFS areas of learning and development: Personal, social and emotional development; Communication and language development; Physical development; Literacy (reading and writing); Mathematics (number, shapes, spaces and measure); Understanding the world; Expressive arts and design.
We love being at school and at home which is why we value the importance of building open communication and positive partnerships between our teachers and parents. We learn better together.
