How you can help

Asking for support is never an easy thing to do – we really do understand that life is very busy for everyone. However, we firmly believe that if everyone were able to contribute in some small way it would mean that your school and children would benefit hugely.  Many hands make light work!

As a PTA we have managed to raise significant additional funds for the school that are used in many ways, but just as importantly we aim to provide events that are exciting and enjoyable for all the children, their families and carers.

Ideas

Have you had a flash of inspiration as to how we can earn extra money for the school? Or have you thought of a social event you would like to see organised? If so please get in touch – all ideas are welcome!

Easy Fundraising

This is a way in which you can support your school from the comfort of your sofa! Simply register at www.easyfundraising.org.uk and choose ‘Friends of Parish School’ as your cause, or have a look for the EasyFundraising App available to download, making it even easier! Then when you come to do online shopping use the easyfundraising website to find your retailer (Amazon, John Lewis, Argos, etc) and when you make a purchase the retailer will make a contribution to the school. It really is free money!

Match Funding

Please enquire as to whether your employer runs a scheme (which you may not currently be aware of). Many large companies offer to ‘match’ any funds that you raise for charity – so they could match one of our fundraising events. FOPS are a Registered Charity - No. 1115516. This again involves little effort for a potentially big reward so please ask!

Supporting Events

We run many events for children and parents (Summer Fair, Christmas Fair and Fireworks being the biggest) and we need support for all of these. Your support runs in three stages – the organisation in advance, the running of the event and then the clearing up afterwards. ANY help offered makes a huge difference to whether or not the event takes place so please do get involved where you can.

Sharing Skills

Do you have a skill which could be useful and are you happy to offer your services on an occasional basis? Are you a face painter? Artist? Tightrope walker? Please do let us know!!

Mutual Support

Do you run a local business? Would you like us to consider using your services as part of our planning and events (food van, disco, printers)? We’re keen to support you in return so please get in touch if you’d like to be on the radar!

Good as New Uniform

We will be holding second hand uniform sales twice yearly so please feel free to leave any good condition unwanted uniform (clearly labelled) in the mansion entrance (don’t get it confused with the lost property box!).

Cake Sales

We will continue to hold cake sales – please consider making or buying a cake to donate, and also coming along to purchase yummy homemade goods on the day!

Collecting Tokens

Please continue to collect all tokens which could help us!  We are always on the lookout for Sainsburys, Tesco and Nestle Box Top schemes.  Collection points for these tokens will usually be found in the Mansion House foyer or outside the school office.

Textile Recycling

Twice a year we issue bags to be filled with unwanted textiles from around the home.  Full bags are then returned to school and exchanged for cash.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us by dropping a note into the FOPS box in the Mansion House foyer or by email friendsofparishschool@yahool.com.
